Samara Perryman, OD

Dr. Samara Perryman, OD, is a highly distinguished full-scope optometrist at EyeCare Associates in Alabama. Dr. Perryman, originally from Trussville, Alabama, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University. She was subsequently accepted and began attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Optometry.

While she was completing her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Dr. Perryman was rewarded the 2017 Alabama Optometric Association Leadership Award and 2017 Good-Lite Award of Excellence in Pediatric Optometry. She completed the Alabama Young Leadership of Optometry Program in 2018 and is a past president of the Southeast Alabama Zone of Optometry at the University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Optometry.

Dr. Perryman's special interests include pediatrics, vision therapy, sports vision enhancement, as well as the treatment and management of ocular disease including dry eyes, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. Dr. Perryman serves on the UABSO Alumni Board and is a member of the Alabama Optometric Association (AOA), the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), the American Optometric Association (AOA), and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD).

When not in the office, she Dr. Perryman enjoys spending time with her husband, their son, and yellow lab. She is currently accepting new patients seeking eye care and eye exams in Troy, Alabama at EyeCare Associates.
